PREVENTION OF SNAKING WITH STABILISERS
Nearly all caravanners, and some trailer towers use a friction based stabiliser which they think will control snaking. However, if one reads the small print that comes with these devices it can be seen that the manufacturers make no such claim. Typically they only claim that stabilisers reduce snaking. They do not say that snaking is eliminated and make no claims as to the amount of reduction in the snaking. This did not stop one company putting a picture of a gyroscope in a stabiliser advert in the Caravan Club Magazine. I am sure that most people will not need reminding that a Gyroscope is an excellent stabiliser. In a large form it has been used in ships; a smaller version is used in space craft.
